Who I Am
I'm Joerg Proeve. I've spent my career inside the insurance industry, at Chubb, where I led integration workstreams after its $28B acquisition by ACE, and at CNA as VP of Strategy and Innovation. I have sat in the rooms where carriers decide what gets paid and what gets denied.
I have also built underwriting operations from the other side of the desk. I was COO of BOXX Insurance, a cyber MGA later acquired by Zurich, where I launched the US business from nothing. Before that I founded and ran Parachute Insurance, a parametric MGA. Earlier in my career I advised insurance executives as a management consultant at Marakon and Kearney.
I earned a Master's in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from London Business School, and started my career in cybersecurity at Siemens. That means I understand the security controls and vendor systems my clients depend on, not just the policies that are supposed to cover them.
I am a member of several banking associations, including PACB and IBANYS.

What Breezy Risk Is
I started Breezy Risk because the coverage gaps I kept seeing from the carrier side were the same ones nobody was showing the banks.
Breezy Risk is a fee-only insurance and risk management consulting firm. I don't place policies. I audit them. No commissions, no broker of record letter. Think of it as an external audit of your insurance program: independent and focused entirely on what is actually in your coverage.
I read the full policy wording, test it against real cyber incident scenarios, and identify where policies point fingers instead of paying. My core engagement is the Risk Intelligence Report: a line-by-line policy audit delivered in plain English with a specific implementation plan to fix the coverage gaps.

Who I Work With
I work with community banks and credit unions, where overlapping policies create coverage confusion that only surfaces at claim time. If you are responsible for your bank's insurance and no one has ever read the policies together, line by line, that is exactly why this service exists.
I partner with IT risk management firms, CPA firms, and compliance consultants who serve community banks. They assess operational risk. I assess whether the insurance covers it.
